FUNERAL AND REMEMBRANCE information...

Our friend and father Thomas J. Dunn passed from this earthly life at 10:23 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2006.  He needed special care the last four of his ninety-one years. Tom Dunn in familiar attire... click to enlarge As a youth in Troy, NYTom was a remarkable person for many reasons... his good humor and selfless generosity, his fairness and courtesy to everyone he met, his guidance and support of his five children, and his intense respect and loyalty to the two beautiful women he was blessed to call his wife.

This website will attempt to give you information about his final resting place on a picturesque hilltop overlooking the rolling Lodi, Wisconsin, countryside.  He will be buried next to his wife Honee.  She was his first mate in life as well as on their Boca Raton seafaring ChrisCraft "Duckaway".  Tom was lucky in love twice when a few years after Honee died Marjorie Carter swept him off to a happiness he never expected would again brighten his days.

Tom's five children have often referred to him as "the best dad in the world".  His strength of character, firm discipline, unhesitating generosity and limitless good humor has set a standard toward which we can only strive to match.  All those who knew Tom will miss him.  Unsolicited tears and kind remarks from the dedicated caregivers at Imperial Health Care in Naples, FL, were offered for hours after the word of his death spread through the halls of his humble final earthly home.  We hope you will remember Tom as he would like to be recalled... funny, cheerful, a good fisherman, a dedicated husband and supportive father... oh, yes... and as a good blackjack, euchre and bridge player!

We offer this website for your enjoyment of his life as seen in the pictures we post.  Feel free to email us with your favorite "Tom Dunn story" or send an image or two that you would like to see posted here. (Email tjdunn@newnorth.net)

Even at 91 years of age Dad was a source of strength and security for us.

...always our strong and steady backup

PHOTO ALBUM

Tom Dunn and Kathryn "Honee" Dugan...oh, how they loved each other.Tom was a gifted photographer and kept an archive of over 8,000 color slides dating from the 1940's.  At the slightest hint that anyone had the next several hours with nothing to do he'd ask, "Shall we look at some slides?"  And the images were always entertaining as "the old days" would be magically reflected in full color off the screen.  Tales of ancient times would be described to match each image.  Places such as Troy, Rochester, Canandaigua Lake in New York state and Glencoe, Illinois, appeared on screen.  Tom was a seafarer at heart and his images of "the good life" with Honee and friends boating  from Boca Raton to Bimini and the Dry Tortugas and Marathon in the Florida Keys always put an extra sparkle in his eye. Hundreds of images of friends, family and interesting places in Lodi and on Little Duck Lake near Land-O-Lakes, WI also contribute to a pictorial resume of a man who was blessed with having led a wonderful life.  Tom Dunn was always sincerely thankful for his good fortune.  A genuinely humble man he never allowed himself to take for granted the joy his friends, family and good fortune brought to his banquet table.  Enjoy the few pictures in the album below...
