Email and other kind remarks about Thomas J. Dunn

To the Tom Dunn Families:
Our memories of Tom will never end. He was a very special friend, as was Honee.  Whenever talking of the past, their names always come up.  Stories and laughs followed about your dad. First time we met him, we asked what he did and he said he was a shepherd!  We loved him dearly and will miss him. BUT, all the memories we have, no one can take away. Our thoughts are with you all at this time,
Dave and Audrey... Lodi, WI

Hi TJ,
I am very sorry to hear of Poppy's passing.  I did not get a chance to  spend a lot of time with him over the years, yet feel as though I know him well  through the stories and fond memories shared with me by you and your sons.   I know how much he meant to Rusty and Mike.  I could always feel such  a profound and sincere pride in there smiles and in there voices when they spoke  of him.  I am sure you know that he will live on in those stories and in  the wonderful tributes you have written.   My best to you and your  family.

Warmest Regards,
Jason Taege

My prayers and thoughts are with you ALL.
Poppy was such a  wonderful man.  I will NEVER forget the first time I met Poppy and the lasting impression he made on me.  I'll never forget how he stood up, as hard as it was for him, when we left and held out his hand as such a gentleman would do and thanked us for coming to see him, I think he even had hugs for us!  He was probably the kindest person I have ever met and that reflection shows in the whole Dunn family.  If I can help with anything, please let me know... I know he is in a happier place now, but it is never easy ... My heart and thoughts are with you... Call me if you need anything...

Hi Sally,
Your father was larger than life to the members of the O'Connor family.  He was so much fun and always the life of the party.  Although I haven't seen him in recent years, I fondly remember his visits to Troy when Poppy and Nana were alive.  My mother worshipped him as I imagine all of his sisters did.  The timing will make Christmas difficult but being from a large family is really a blessing especially at times like this.  Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Love,  Cousin Maureen

My name is Tom McDermott.  I worked for Xerox Corporation in the  Chicago area from 1959 to 1996.  I knew your dad during my early years with  the company.   My memories of him are that he was a very dignified caring,  outgoing and special man.  He reminded me a lot of Joseph Wilson.   Xerox, as you know, was transitioning from Haloid to Xerox in the early  60's.  I believe your dad was a visionary and saw the changes that were on  the horizon from a small persolalized company to more of a profit oriented  business with the bottom line being the most important objective.  As I am  sure your dad told you in the days of Haloid when ready cash was not readily  available, many of the employees received stock in place of adequate salaries,  the rumor when your dad left was
that he closed the book on Xerox and headed off  to Florida to enjoy the good life on his yacht.  It is very interested for  me to see that he was an avid  fisherman and I am also and we have a summer place  close to Land O Lakes and have been going there for 40 years.  I saw your  dads death notice the Wisconsin Vilas  County News Review.  It brought  back some wonderful memories of a  very special man.  Please accept my  condolences.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in the death of your father. He was everything you kids said he was. I hadn't seen him in years as I have not seen alot of you in years, but my name is Becky Blakesley (Clark) originally from Lodi, Wi and now live in Land O Lakes. I was more aquainted with John than any of you but met you all in Okee, Wi at the Lake at your Dads cabin there. Just wanted you all to know I am thinking of you all, and May God Bless you all.

Sincerely,
Becky Blakesley (Monkey! right Stumpy)

I'm so sorry for your loss, but also quite grateful that your father played such a major role in the lives of Rusty and Mike and even Tommy.  There are better people here on this earth because of Poppi!

Fondly, Maureen Reevs
TJ... My deepest sympathy is sent your way. So strange, when Rhonda brought Sunny into the clinic on Thursday, I was going to ask her about Poppy, but, something made me change my mind. I felt that he would be at peace very soon. It is so hard for us to not have the ones we love on this plane, but, more comforting is knowing that they are truly back Home and we will all be together again some day. He is celebrating with your mother and various others. I'm sure my Grandma met him there, too. Peace be with you and the rest of your family. Again, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Eva
This is Larry Regula the person Tom sold the cottage to in 1978 and it has been our second home for the past 28 years.  Tom was one of the finest people I have ever met in my life and I cherished the time we lived next to each other in Lodi.  I never met a man who loved the outdoors more then me until I met Tom.  Having the chance to go up to Duckaway is still a experience I treasure .  I loved fishing with him I loved bird hunting with him and all of us loved the man.

Pam and I offer our sympathy to all of the family.
Hi TJ,

I want to express my sympathy in the death of your beloved father.  I read the obituary in the Bonita Springs (FL) Daily News.  His name caught my eye and upon reading realized he was your father.  Sounds like he was quite a man and will be missed by many.
My condolences to you and your family.
